We at Sunshine Rail service maintain a fleet of 500+ coal cars for a power plant.  Get trained in one of Americas oldest careers. That is also a dying trade due to the older generation retiring. We need new young eager people to keep the railcars moving. We are a young company where opportunity is knocking. With Sunshine Rail Service you have a bright future!
The responsibilities of a railcar mechanic.
  • Is being able to pick up 50 lbs.
  • Able to climb ladders up to 15ft.
  • Follow instructions and be able to read a work order.
  • Paint, all paint is water based.
  • Use basic hand tools(hammer, wrenches, pliers, prybars, racket and sockets.)
  • Power tools. (drills, impacts, air hammers, needle scalers.)
  • Able to assemble railcar parts big and small.
  • Welding experience and cutting torch experience preferred
Even with no experience if you are driven and want to learn we will train you in every aspect of railcar repairs. Once you learn railcar maintenance it is a job that you can take with you any where in the USA using the same guidelines any where you go. Unlike most companies where there is limits to raises, the faster you learn and prove yourself the faster the raises come.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:
  • Normally 40 hours / week.  M-F 7:30 - 4
  • Day shift
  • No nights
  • No weekends
  • Overtime is sometimes available
